TEA TIME!

It's 5 deg. outside, snowing. Not used to this weather since I'm from CA. All I seem to want is tea...Hot tea. All kinds of Hot tea. Caffeinated, decaffeinated, green, whatever, just keep it coming!

Somehow, I don't think I'm the only one. What's your favorite?  Found these wonderful brass Tea charms and had some fun adding them to this necklace.

A Day at the Zoo

Something tells me its all happening at the zoo...
I do believe it, I do believe its true.  Been singing that all weekend. What a beautiful day we had at the zoo. Never had the privelege of petting a giraffe and looking at one eye to eye, "Such long eyelashes you have".

Good Plans

There is a scripture in Jeremiah 29:11 where you can read what God's plans are for you. If you thumb thru the bible, you'll see it is God speaking. And on this charm is what he says about you. He has a plan for everyones life. And its good, full of peace and hope, not evil. People don't believe He is a good God, but He is.

Nifty Pins

Angels Set

At the time of making the nativity set, had an idea for Angels too, since they are so popular. On Webshots, at the time, I inputted Angels, and up came all sorts of things, but also stone angels from cemetaries. From all over the world, Europe, midwest etc.  They were so beautiful. One thing with finding pics here or on web, which is cool, 1 person can only be so many places in their lifetime even, but why not take advantage of all the pics from other peoples lives? Dang, I wish I could get Webshots on my Mac. You see, there, they will let you upload all your vacation pics, so there are absolutely tons, did I mention? Tons...God gives me ideas for these charms. My main focus is to encourage and bless people with these.

On the backs of these, just cut out pages of "The Hallelujah Chorus" from an old hymnal at the thriftstore, then stamped over and added some color with sponges to look ancient, and topped it off with glitter.  Giving you freely some ideas for next Christmas. Run with it...

Nativity Set

A few years ago, I had an idea to make charms into nativity set.  Wanted them as Christmas tree ornaments.  Made several sets, even gave some as gifts, was alot of work, but so made with love. Added scriptures that pertained to each. Found the photos on Webshots, a free online screensaver program, awesome, where you can find any pic you want, save and put in your files. Only I can't use that any more, cuz I have a Mac. So now I look for any photos on photobucket and flicker, both good.  The sizes for these were large about 1 1/2W x 3" long.  Get out of the box and think of creative ideas for your charms!

On the backs, since I enjoy painting with watercolors, I used watercolor coldpress paper, painted some fun colors and textures, and then rubberstamped some designs on top and added script.

Ideas for Collage Charms

Be creative!  Those of you that make these littles trinkets, the sky is the limit, in what you can do with them. Go to the local thriftshops, and find stuff to hang them from.  But always find a deal, which is half the fun. And to me it makes sense to find stuff that is practical, for a purpose, to use.  I found these candlestick holders in a thriftstore and they must have at one time held hangie things, but when I got them, only had the holes.  so I added charms.

Life is Now

Sometimes we live with regrets about yesterday, even so much so, that it stops a person from going forward.  It's like it paralyzes you. Your thoughts dwell on the past, that you miss today, and you walk around in a daze, not even listening to people. What a downer, huh? Let's pick it up then.  But first look on the other side.  We can be afraid of our future, the fear of the unknown, what if's, the 'it might not happen's'.  The same can occur, that you miss the now. You think you might fail, so you won't even try.   Notice that there is no life is this.  There is no life in the past, only memories. There is no life yet in the future, only speculations and hopes.  I'm not even talking about dreaming and goalsetting, which are both so important. We must do both of these. But we must live and enjoy life today, make the best of it, be so grateful for every moment.  I worked in a hospital at a Cancer Cntr not long ago. These patients know how to live. They can teach us so much! They are grateful for every single moment! Life is a gift! LIVE today...

Real Love

Where does real love come from?  The guy you met last nite at the new bar you tried?  Getting something you've always wanted? Come on, what is real love? I John 4:8 says "God is Love".  All this time we grew up thinking He was a mean old Ogre that only struck people with lightning for the fun of it.

His nature is love, He doesn't just love us, He IS Love. The kind of love that always, never stops loving you. The kind of love that even if you don't match up to his ways, will keep on loving you. The kind of love that will never, ever leave you.  Think about that this week. I dare you to see Him thru a different set of lenses.  The kind of love that would give his only son to save you. He-loves-you...

Something Different

A little trinket, something different,
you can hang just anywhere that will inspire.  My son is a worship leader and one day when he was changing his guitar strings, it gave me an idea. Hmmm, I wonder...Hadn't cut circles yet, but I ended up making a worship charm. On the back I put a pic of an orange gerber flower "Grateful".

Famous Quotes

There are so many great and meaningful quotes from famous people, politicians even to writers and artists.
Here is one that couldn't be passed up. Hitch your wagon to a star.  In other words, look up!  Think higher. I remember this small sign I kept at my desk for years that really encouraged me. It was a quote from a Jewish proverb "My words equal my worlds".
Hmmm, I love that one. What you are today is a result of what you thought and said yesterday.
